Manual Tranny in Full-sized Olds

I wonder how many folk know that the full-sized Olds was available with a manual transmission in the early 60's?  We are talking the full-sized 88 and 98 models here, not the F-85 or Cutlass.

I know they were, because I was priviledged to be able to own one.  Mine was ordered new from the factory by my brother.  He ordered it with a manual 3-speed on the column, and no PB or PS!

This car would haul, let me tell you.  It was a 394 c.i. engine with a 4 bbl Rochester.   Yes, more than a few machines would take it off the line, but by the time I hit 2nd gear, they were eating my dust!

I have never seen another one similarly equipped, though I am sure they may have existed.  Assuming they do, they are rare indeed.

Like many of you I am sure, this is the ride that got away, unfortunately.

I never knew there was an Olds standard shift past 1959, and the newest I ever saw in person was 57. Essay Writing Services Have you guys ever seen a 60's one in person?
