I wonder how many folk know that the full-sized Olds was available with a manual transmission in the early 60's? We are talking the full-sized 88 and 98 models here, not the F-85 or Cutlass.
I know they were, because I was priviledged to be able to own one. Mine was ordered new from the factory by my brother. He ordered it with a manual 3-speed on the column, and no PB or PS!
This car would haul, let me tell you. It was a 394 c.i. engine with a 4 bbl Rochester. Yes, more than a few machines would take it off the line, but by the time I hit 2nd gear, they were eating my dust!
I have never seen another one similarly equipped, though I am sure they may have existed. Assuming they do, they are rare indeed.
