I ran across this on one of the many fora I frequent.  It caught my eye because of its uniqueness.  I am constantly amazed at what some folk do with their rides.

The things one does not know about cars:

My '63 had a rather large hole in the bottom of the right front fender.  I presumed it was an unrepaired rust spot [See Attached Pic], especially since there was not a corresponding, matching hole in the left fender.  I did point the hole out to the buyer before the sale.

It turns out the hole is from the factory.  Its purpose is to drain water from the windshield and cowl.  Additionally, there should be a matching hole in the left front fender!

It's been a long long time since I've had a GM car of any kind. But for sure I'm thinking you want those holes open. The engineers thought of that so they must be right.....right?

The strange thing, which I learned subsequently, and as I mentioned earlier, there is supposed to be a corresponding hole on the driver side fender.  Someone took the time and trouble to fill it in and paint it over!  Why did they do so, on only one side, I have to wonder?
