Jamal Musiala was born on 26 February 2003 in Stuttgart, Germany, to a British-Nigerian Yoruba father and a German mother with Polish roots. His father, Daniel Richard, was a former footballer who played in his native Nigeria before moving to Germany, and his mother, Carolyn, is a sociologist who graduated from the University of Southampton in England. Musiala grew up in Fulda, a central German city northeast of Frankfurt, with her two younger siblings, sister Latisha and brother Jerel. Musiala's childhood was marked by her diverse cultural heritage and the influence of both her parents' origins.
