Club career

Born in Marseille, Theo Hernandez began his footballing career at Atlético Madrid's academy in 2007 at the age of nine, following in the footsteps of his father, a former player at the club. By 2015, he had progressed to Atlético's second team and was called up to the first team for a La Liga match against Eibar in February 2016, although he did not play.

In August 2016, after extending his contract with Atlético, Theo was loaned to Alavés for a year. He made his La Liga debut for Alavés later that month against Sporting Gijón and scored his first goal in May 2017, scoring the winner against Athletic Bilbao. His unforgettable season at Alavés culminated with a goal in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

Theo joined Real Madrid in July 2017 for a fee of €26 million. He made his debut for Real Madrid in August 2017 and quickly won the UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup, although he played a limited role in these early victories. And in 2018, he was loaned to Real Sociedad for a season.

In July 2019, Hernandez signed for Milan for €20 million and quickly became an integral part of the team, making a huge impact in his debut season, making 33 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists. Over the following seasons, he established himself as a key player for Milan, known for his attacking prowess. His turning point came in May 2022 when he scored a brilliant goal against Atalanta that was voted Goal of the Season and helped Milan win the Serie A title.
