How to improve user experience on mobile devices

Most of our traffic is coming from mobile phones but our current site is a bit slow and hard to navigate on smaller screens. What are the key features of a good mobile UI for a casino? Should we build a native app or just focus on a really good web version? I want to make the gaming process as smooth as possible for our players.
